Looking at the exterior dimensions, the new A4 Avant is 15.42 feet in length, which is about 4.72 inches longer over the previous version. At the same time, the body of this vehicle is designed strongly for more rigidity, though it’s 10% lighter than its predecessor.
It is designed with flat D-pillars to create an excellent silhouette over the previous A4 wagons. New A4 Avant TDI comes with 16/17 inch alloy wheels that look really stylish.
2011 Audi A4 Avant TDI is offered with choice of two gasoline and three diesel engines. According to Audi, an advanced turbocharged 4-cylinder engine will replace this engine soon, perhaps in 2012.
Presently, the vehicle comes powered by a 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine along with a 2.0-liter TFSI engine, which develop 211 hp of power @ 6,000 rpm and 258 pounds-feet of torque @ 4,200 rpm.
Coming to fuel economy, the vehicle achieves 21 miles per gallon in city and 29 miles per gallon on highways with a powerful eight-speed Tiptronic transmission; the AWD is optional across the board.
